Abstract

Current training in engineering careers poses major challenges related to the design and implementation of teaching strategies in the framework of competency-based education. Advanced Mathematics is a subject in the area of basic sciences of Mechatronics Engineering career in Engineering Faculty of the National University of Cuyo in the city of Mendoza, Argentina, whose educational model is defined from interaction scenarios designed to promote complex learning and the development of specific skills that contribute to the professional competencies profile. This work presents an integration and research scenario in which the vibrations attenuation of a flexible system like the one of wind generator blades is selected as the interest problem situation. The students are presented with the solution of different mathematical models to assist in the decision-making design process. The integrating work allows to approach the students to the professional practice in a context according to the training block to which the curricular space belongs, combining properly the resolution strategies, with the appropriate referents to the level and contents of the subject. Elaborated rubrics are presented for the evaluation of the written and oral presentations and results obtained from the proposal implementation.
